East Eugene is home to the University of Oregon and features some of the finest real estate in Eugene Oregon. Bordered by Franklin Boulevard and Willamette Street, East Eugene real estate includes the desirable vistas of Hendricks Park and the expansive Glenwood area to the south.

The University of Oregon was founded in East Eugene in 1876. Today it is the largest university in the state with an enrollment of 20,000 students. The university is internationally recognized for its contributions in science, business, and journalism. The movie “Animal House” was filmed on its campus.

East Eugene is also home to Hayward Field, the inspirational venue for the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Track and Field Trials. Legendary University of Oregon track star Steve Prefontaine ran his way to glory here in the early 1970s, capturing every American record from the mile to 10,000 meters. Nike co-founders Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman created their first shoes and presented them to the world from Hayward Field. Today Eugene Oregon is regarded as Tracktown USA by track and field fans everywhere.
